Mission Statement
TO EMPOWER volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs
Cranberry History
The Cranberry Area Lions Club is a member of Lions Clubs International and was chartered on May 8th, 1978. It serves portions of Venango County Pennsylvania and has members from Cranberry, Seneca, Oil City, Rockland and more. We meet twice a month on the first and third Mondays unless otherwise noted. Meetings are held at Hoss’s Steak and Seafood on route 257. We aid a plethora of agencies and groups, including: The Venango County Blind Association, Community Services, Friends For Food, Salvation Army, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and various local volunteer Fire Departments.
We are a world leader in the effort to prevent avoidable blindness, and we’re diligently working with Lions clubs and local partners to help provide the local capacity building, training, medications and treatment needed for those with eye diseases and to provide disability rehabilitation and education for all.
We are committed to providing youth and young adults with opportunities to succeed. The Lions Quest program provides young people and their educators with tools to make positive choices, resist drugs and alcohol, learn through service and become healthy young men and women.
Lions take action in their communities, working face-to-face with the people they serve. We support the wide variety of humanitarian efforts implemented and coordinated by Lions and give grants to increase their scale and effectiveness.
We help provide healthy meals for the hungry and work to establish strategies and greater capacity for communities in which food is scarce.
